Sizing Guide
We are firm believers that the clothing should fit you, not the other way round.
To assist you in choosing the best fit for you, below are measurements of our range when the items are laid flat - if applicable.
Please do remember that this is a guide only and the measurements provided may vary a little from garment to garment. If you are still not sure, we are here to help and can provide more specific measurements for you. Please reach out to us with your enquiry and we'll be more than happy to assist.
Our Collection is for everyone.
Caps
Your head, along with your feet, are the most sensitive to recognising if something is too snug or too loose.
A good hat should feel as though you aren't wearing it at all.
To measure, place a measuring tape around your head, around 1cm above your eye brow.
Our caps are made from 100% wool and cotton lining & thread. The peak is made from molded plastic. There is a metal fitting on the peak of the cap.
Dry Clean Only.
Knitwear
All our knitwear are made from 100% British Wool and approved by The British Wool Association, of which we are proud members of.
First, find the design you are after, we have a few! All unique and with their own story to tell.
Our Sizing (Small, Medium, Large etc) will give you a starting point as each jumper is graded consistently but each design has its own nuances. A waistband might be shorter, or it may have a double cuff. Every detail is here...
One tip that we would say is always remember to consider your height and arm length.
Hand Wash as little as possible.
Collared Jumpers
Our Collared Jumpers are based on a 1936 pattern original in our collection. As such are so are designed to be worn more fitted. They are narrower 3 gauge to our heavier knits which make these perfect for wearing all year round.
Rollneck Jumpers

This is a 5 gauge cable knit
Cable Collared Jumper
This design is inspired by the jumper worn by Elvis in Jailhouse Rock in 1957 but in reality this style is timeless and similar can be see decades before (and after!)
The key to this designs uniqueness is the shorter body and the cable style, deliberately knitted to look as though it has been hand knitted.
Gansey Jumpers
One of the oldest designs in existance. If you time travelled back to the 1790s wearing a gansey, the folks around would recognise this jumper.
Synonymous with fishing communities along the British coast, this is just one of the types of 'ganseys'. Unique with its drop shoulder and box waist, it is great oversized or tightly fitted.
Crew Neck Jumpers
The traditional crew neck pattern has been directly inspired from two original examples in our collection.
The unique crew neck shape and cut is directly reproduced from an early 20th century Royal Naval pattern jumper, while the deep waistband and double cuff design is directly inspired from an original mid 20th century varsity jumper.
This is a 5 gauge knit.
TROUSERS
If you have a pair of high waisted slacks or shorts that you find comfortable and you feel fit you, you can use these as a guide. You are still best to measure yourself as well.
For the waist, make sure the garment is done up, lay them flat and measure the waistline (double this for your waist measurement).
If you don't have a pair of high waisted shorts (you soon will!), then you just need to measure yourself. See if you can find someone to help with this.
Waist: Your 'natural waist' is circa 1 inch above your belly button - this is where you will need to measure. Relax and don't pull the tape too tight - you are fabulous regardless of your waist size.
Seat : This is your derrière. Measure around the fullest part of your ‘buttocks’. This isn't your hip measurements and with these slacks, you won't need to worry about your hips.
Our slacks and shorts are tailored with all this in mind but it is best to double check you are getting the best pair for you. The shorts will essentially hang from your waist and fall over your bottom, creating the straight leg look.

SHIRTS
Our range of shirts and t-shirts offer a lighter weight wardrobe option and are perfect for wearing as a single statement piece or - when the occasion calls for it - you can master the art of layering with our Biggs knitwear.
Our rugby shirts, polo and t-shirts are made with jersey cotton, and our shirts are made of 100% cotton and linens.
The best way to ensure longevity of cotton garments is to wash on a low 30 degree heat. Don't use an over hot iron either.
Rugby Shirts
Our Rugby Jerseys are made in England and designed to be played in.
They are made using a poly cotton mix, making them easier to wash, and the seams are designed to withstand a tackle or scrum.
30 Degrees is best but you can wash these at a higher 40 degree heat but be mindful of shrinkage.
Please bear in mind our designs are in keeping with early 20th Century jerseys, meaning they are a looser fit compared to today's skin tight shirts.
